Selling stuff you don’t use or no longer need has got to be the easiest way to make some extra cash. Some of this stuff you may even be able to come by for free. Here are 6 ways to make money online selling stuff you already have.

1. SELL SEASONAL BYPRODUCTS OF THE WEATHER

Seriously, there is a guy that makes money selling fall leaves and snow.  Even more surprising? People actually buy it, because some locations don’t really get seasons and they like to experience a taste of it. I know what it’s like. I grew up in southern California and saw snow shipped in on occasion for kids to play with.

2. SELL YOUR PHOTOS TO STOCK PHOTO SITES

I use stock photos all the time as do many other websites. Website owners just typically don’t have time to go out and take all the necessary photographs for their site. This means there is an opportunity for photographers to sell their photos to stock photo sites to make some extra money.

PhotoWorkout has created The Ultimate Guide to Selling Stock Photos to help you make the most for your photos.

3. SELL USED CELL PHONES

Not everyone can afford to buy a new phone but buying a used cell phone can still be an upgrade from their old phone.

You can learn more about how to make money selling used cell phones over at Debt Roundup.

4. SELL STUFF ON EBAY

Ebay is probably the most well known website for reselling goods. Having not done much selling on eBay myself, I asked Jason of The Butler Journal to stop by the site and share best practices so you can Make Money Selling on eBay. I also highly recommend Jason’s Free 5 day Thrifting Challenge

5. SELL YOUR CDS AND DVDS

If you have been holding on to old discs and are looking to clear off your shelves, you can use sites like Decluttr and FYE to make money selling your old DVDs and CDs.

Check out my post on how to get the most for selling and donating your stuff

6. SELL YOUR BOOKS

I absolutely love using Bookscouter to help me clear off my bookshelves. I have a rule that if I don’t want to reread the book or I’ve had it for more than a year and have not read it then it gets sold. Bookscouter works to find out who will pay you the most money for your books. Just pull up Bookscouter and enter your book’s ISBN and it searches tons of sites for quotes.

Wrapping it Up with a Bow on Top

Whether you make money taking advantage of the weather near you, or start cleaning out your house of old electronics or books you’re never going to read again, you are sure to find something you could sell online for some extra cash.

Which way will you give a try to make extra money?
