My Experience Working Stadium Security

Here is some more information about one of my favorite hustles. I started working at Gillette Stadium in Fall 2012 and left December 2013. I left because of a knee injury that made the long hours on my feet really hard. While I loved the work, I didn’t care for the office politics. Yes, even the stadium work had office politics.

There were a lot of great things about working in the stadium, not least of which was the things you got to see that spectators sometimes missed. Though anytime you are dealing with drunk people and are in the position of authority there is going to be some stupid happening.

Just a reminder, if you are attending one of these events and are being stupid drunk, or are aggravated at the bag checks, the people working are not out to get you. They are working to make sure the stadium and therefore your experience is a safe one.

All in all, if I lived near a stadium now, I’d apply to work there as part of stadium security in a heartbeat. The schedule was great and there are some truly amazing people that work at stadiums.

Wrapping it Up with a Bow on Top

Working stadium security is a great gig and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for some extra work in the form of a weekend job, but not an every weekend job. If you have questions, let me know in the comments!
